What is the concept behind 'rockpool'?

Rockpool is the first custom design print for NATALIE CHAPMAN. After a few years of designing ranges it was time to design my own print and come up with something to establish NATALIE CHAPMAN as a brand.. Something different to your typical animal print however still carrying that simple, versatile look. Prints that are simple and easy to look at give brands that point of difference. black is such a striking mix to flatter any shape and to suit and style. The Rockpool print was going to be a perfect feature to add to black for your staple trans-seasonal pieces and full Rockpool print for statement making.

Where is the best place to wear rockpool?

Any of the dresses can be worn to drinks at night with the girls, formal gatherings, and cocktail parties. The bodysuits/full piece swimsuit is also your perfect look for music festivals and to party throughout summer.

 My favourite look at the moment is the diamond bodysuit with denim shorts for during the day and the Bennet dress for after work drinks. Simple, easy and look great with anything!

What makes 'Rockpool' worth talking about?

It is all about the print and the styles it carries. The simple designs are flattering and classy. When you wear a Rockpool piece you instantly feel confident with the sharpness of the print and classy with the flattering design. Rockpool will also be changing into different colour concepts, which will make it an exclusive print that everyone will be talking about. Young women will want the first colour design and then adding to the collection as the colours change. You can create your own collection within the colour ranges.

 What are you looking forward to this summer?

This collection is my first for swimwear so I am excited to sit by the pool or go to the beach and wear the new Rockpool Swimsuits. Wearing a swimsuit you designed with a great print is the best feeling in the world. The print couldn’t be more suited to the water!!

 Where is your favourite place to spend summer days?

I come from a large sailing family so I can’t wait to hop on a boat and go for a sail. I am a huge fan of the northern beaches so I will be up at Newport with the family.

What is your summer essential?

Stones two-piece swimsuit, Diamond Bodysuit and denim shorts that are a relaxed fit. I can go anywhere with these pieces.

What can we expect from Natalie Chapman in 2011?

NATALIE CHAPMAN will be a print based brand. As mentioned earlier you will see different colour ways come through this print and then new prints will be made up. NATALIE CHAPMAN is a brand about confidence and class with an edge. The brand will have a main focus into the Californian market in 2011, which will have an influence on the shapes and styles that are projected for the future.
